Trina Solar signed a lease at Tradepoint 45 West for its first U.S. manufacturing facility totaling 1.35 million square feet, located on a 95-acre lot in Wilmer. Trina Solar, which reported $11.58 billion in revenue through three quarters of 2023, plans to invest more than $200 million into the South Dallas Inland Port facility to manufacture and assemble high-power Vertex solar panels and modules.
Once operational, the production warehouse will create 1,500 jobs in the South Dallas market. Tradepoint 45 West currently stands as the largest speculative manufacturing facility ever built in Texas. The warehouse is projected to be up and running by the end of 2024, just two years after it broke ground.
“This facility represents a significant investment in American manufacturing that will bolster the U.S. solar market and position Texas as a leader in the transition to a sustainable future. We are grateful to the City of Wilmer and look forward to the many accomplishments our partnership will bring,” Steven Zhu, president of Trina Solar, said.
